I only fell once - and that was in my 40s. A few months ago I was on the roof one afternoon while the wife was at work. The ladder fell - which is only slightly better than actually falling yourself. So for an afternoon I felt like Tom Hanks in "Castaway" or whatever that movie was called where he was stranded on the tropical island. At least he had coconuts. There is wisdom in your advice. I just got done doing a roof job on my sun porch. It only leaked when it rained. I had to remove cedar shakes which were home to at least 6 species of bees and wasps, steped on 4 nails, cut leg on metal and finished the job with help from my sons. I called in my chips . Anyway, the guy wanted to sell me a type that lasts 100 yrs. What do I need a roof that would last that long? I settled for the 50 yr. roof material. So at 112 yrs. old I won't be doing it over.
