    My birthday falls on Passover. My husband says we will always celebrate afterwords but we never do. I want a card and gifts - there I said it. I feel silly cause I really don’t want for anything but I just want to feel special one day a year.

    You are a present to my life! I celebrate other people's birthdays because they have been gifts to me! Once, I sent flowers to my best friend's mother on my best friend's birthday…and both were thrilled!

    And, I understand the birthday lineups! My husband's birthday is January 26; mine is January 27; my former daughter-in-law (mother of my granddaughter, so definitely still part of the family) is on the 28th; one niece is on the 29th; our youngest son is on the 30th; and another cousin is on the 31st of January!

    Just to keep dates in the family, our oldest son was born the day after my dad on July 30…which meant he and his brother are exactly 6 months apart!

    Thought you might enjoy.

    And…when we turn 65, for a while at least our insurance rates can go down while we qualify for Medicare!

    Dear Suzy;

    Do not feel bad about wanting to celebrate your birthday !

    I am mum to five children and I would die one thousand deaths if I did not celebrate the anniversary of each bairn's birth . My husband's birthday is not as spectacular a production but it is still an event . As we migrated from the UK to Australia when we married I allowed my birthday celebration to slide . First it was the added expense and my husband like many husbands does not know how to do such things .
    But this year I learned something .. My mentors were two young girls I know who both lit up every room they entered . They loved life and nothing gave them more pleasure to then to surprise other people and make them feel good about themselves . ( Pania a stunning natural beauty promised a boy whose talents were not so obvious to the world when they were in yr ten that she would be his partner to his yr 12 formal. Two years later Pania although she was dating another boy never forgot that promise . Not only did she go to the formal with the boy she demanded that they practice dancing together to enjoy the night even more . They went to the formal danced the night away and at the end won the best couple's dance competition !
    Everyone deserves to feel special and to know without a doubt that they matter . That is what birthdays are. We don't need a cake we don't even need gifts but the occasion should be duly noted . Your creator brought you into this world during Passover and that should be the day thanks is given for the gift of you !!
    Have a happy Suzy Day !
